Traditional-style accommodation in the very centre of this historic maritime town.

Choose from Lobster Pot Cottage, our modern yet traditionally-styled property on the West Cliff - which sleeps six and boasts its own parking space - or, for a totally traditional experience, sample the delights of a 300-year-old fisherman's cottage sleeping four, at 4 Clarks Yard in the older part of the town.

From the pioneering voyages of Captain James Cook to the whaling, fishing and boat-building industries, Whitby has always had a strong connection to the sea.  A full-size replica of Cook's sailing ship Endeavour is a permanent fixture in the harbour, and features the Orlop restaurant on board.

The Victorian author Bram Stoker set his Gothic novel Dracula in the town, and brought his vampire antihero ashore by boat - in the form of a black dog.

Food and drink are to be found aplenty, from the traditional fish and chips served at the legendary Magpie Cafe and Trenchers restaurant - winner of the 2019 National Fish & Chip Awards.  Whitby has more than its fair share of bars and old world pubs just waiting to be explored.

The two sides of the town, known as the West Cliff and the East Cliff, and linked by the century-old swing bridge over the River Esk, and are very different in character.  Our cottages offer you an opportunity to sample life on either one side or the other.  Lobster Pot Cottage remains pet-free, however 4 Clarks Yard now accepts 1 well-behaved dog.
